Two Ways To Use ChatGPT With Mem
- Save ChatGPT into Mem with the Exchange browser extension.
- Let ChatGPT use Mem with the official Cloud plugin or a separate custom MCP connection to your App. Authorized tools can read, save, and update Memories.
Save ChatGPT Conversations
The Nowledge Mem Exchange browser extension runs beside ChatGPT in your browser's side panel or sidebar.
- Always Remember extracts decisions, discoveries, and key conclusions as you chat.
- Keep Messages backs up your full conversation history in real time.
- Per-platform settings remember how you want ChatGPT handled.
Setup
Install Nowledge Mem Exchange:
- Chrome / Edge: Get Extension
- Firefox: Get Extension
Open the side panel on any ChatGPT page. Enable your preferred capture modes. Done.
Let ChatGPT Search Mem
For a personal or Team workspace on Nowledge Cloud, install Nowledge Mem from the Plugins Directory. Sign in to Mem, choose the intended workspace, and approve OAuth. Select Try in chat, then mention @Nowledge Mem. Verify a scoped write and exact-ID readback before using it for important work.
Choose the setup that matches where your Memories live: official installation for a personal or Team workspace on Nowledge Cloud, or the App connection guide for Mem running on your computer.
For Mem running on your computer, follow the App connection guide with Access Anywhere or Nowledge Link. Add the connection from ChatGPT's Plugins page or Settings → Apps, following the controls available in your account. Keep Mem and the connection running while ChatGPT uses them. Custom connection availability depends on Developer mode, account availability and workspace policy; these are not extra steps in installing the official plugin.
The plugin can save chosen Memories, but it does not automatically capture complete chats. Semantic search also depends on the connected workspace's model and index availability. If it reports limited search, use distinctive keywords.
Bulk Import (Historical Data)
